Although short in duration, Earthgrazer’s Skyward EP is grandiose in every way. Five songs vibrate and glow in a bright, elemental manner. The sound is firmly rock, with an otherworldly nature: playful, wispy harmonies dance on a vocal guitar presence and a bouncy rhythm section. From the trippy Wildfire to the more contemplative Moon Shot, the EP presents five songs that connect with a mythical vision of nature: Monsters and mountains, fire and ice. It feels in some ways like the alt-rock companion to a fairy tale – a boy hero, fighting to set an island free. Earthgrazer evokes this primal and lyrical planetscape as a reflection of deeper emotional events, and the result is a magic sound and place we should all pay a visit. ~ Eric Taylor
